Drª Susana Margarida Gomes Moreira

Departamento de Biologia Celular e Genética

Possui Graduação em Bioquímica pela Universidade do Porto (2001), Mestrado em Biotecnologia/Eng de Bioprocessos pela Universidade do Minho (2004) e Doutorado em Engenharia Química e Biológica pela Universidade do Minho (2009). Tendo sido o doutorado revalidado no Programa de Pós-graduação em Bioquímica da UFRN (2012). Tem trabalhado na área de Engenharia de Tecidos/Medicina regenerativa com ênfase na caracterização e funcionalização de materiais para aplicação em regeneração óssea. Tem estudado as bioatividades de polissacáridos sulfatos de macroalgas marinhas, especialmente, na diferenciação de células-tronco. Tem larga experiência em técnicas de biologia molecular e cultura celular, nomeadamente, i) clonagem, expressão e purificação de proteínas recombinantes (usando diferente sistemas de expressão), ii) avaliação da biocompatibilidade de materiais, incluindo avaliação da sua genotoxicidade. Atualmente, atua como coordenadora do programa de doutorado RENORBIO na Nucleadora Rio Grande do Norte.
